Painting the Apple

  • Take a photo of  an apple.
  • Make sure you have harsh shadows, but the main part of the apple is not in the shadow.
  • Ideally, it should be on a white or light surface.
    • Table cloth
    • White Paper
    • Bed Sheet
  • Ideally, you should shoot outside.   Natural lighting is the best and a sunny Colorado day produces great shadow.
  • The apple should have textures and a range of color.
    • No green apples
    • Mix of green and red for example.
    • choose an apple that was waxed and polished or polish it your self to ensure you have well defined specular highlights.
