Here are the main steps, they do not have to be exactly in this order:
-
Cut the house away from the original background.
-
Find a new background that could add to the scene. (rolling hills, a forest, overgrown fields, etc.)
-
Find an appropriate sky, the creepier and darker the better. Cut the sky out of your existing background and place this sky behind the layer.
-
Then you can start breaking down the house, break the windows, dirty the paint, mess up the shingles, put in some holes, and/ or add some spray paint. I added some notes. To our classroom blog.
-
Add some type of foreground, an over-grown lawn, some creepy trees or any thing you think is appropriate.
This is where I am . . .
-
Blend all the colors to match. This can be tricky and I might need to help students individually. If you get to this point and I am still not back, hold off and I will talk to you next class.
